Dr. Planchard grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, the son of an ophthalmologist. He completed his undergraduate studies in biology and economics at Duke University in North Carolina. He obtained his medical degree at Tulane University in New Orleans. After an internship in general surgery at the University of Texas San Antonio, Dr. Planchard completed his ophthalmology residency at Louisiana Health Science Center-Shreveport, his home town. He completed fellowship training in cornea and refractive surgery at the Price Vision Group in Indianapolis, Indiana. After finishing his fellowship, he has practice in Louisiana, Texas, and Florida. Dr. Planchard is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. His his spare time, he enjoys reading history and cooking.
