Dr. Lin is a board certified diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellowship trained specialist in the diseases and surgery of the vitreous, retina and macula. She manages and treats diseases such as Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Macular Holes and Retinal Detachments.
Dr. Lin was born in Hong Kong and raised in Jacksonville, FL. She received her Bachelor of Science from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Then she returned to Florida to attend medical school at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine and interned at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. Her residency in Ophthalmology was accomplished at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center in New York City where she served one year as Chief Resident. Dr. Lin then returned to her home town to complete a two year medical and surgical vitreo-retinal fellowship at the University of Florida at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville.
After her fellowship, Dr. Lin moved up to Cleveland, Ohio to work at MetroHealth Hospital as the Assistant Director of Vitreoretinal and Eye Trauma, and was a Senior Clinical Instructor of Case Western Reserve University, teaching the ophthalmology residents from both Case Western University and the Cleveland Clinic. She met her husband in Cleveland, Ohio and brought him down to sunny Florida, where they enjoy the beaches with their son. Dr. Lin has been practicing in the greater Tampa and Sarasota area for 10 years.
