Learn about LASIK!
LASIK (laser in-situ keratomileusis) is a procedure that reshapes the cornea, helping to more clearly focus on what you see. LASIK is the most familiar refractive procedure. Other refractive procedures include PRK (photo-refractive keratectomy) and RLE (refractive lens exchange). Those who are not good candidates for LASIK may benefit from either PRK or RLE.
Since the LASIK surgery repairs refractive errors in the cornea you can finally have the vision you’ve always wanted. This procedure repairs eye conditions like myopia, presbyopia and, astigmatism. With this simple procedure and short recovery time, we give the Winter Haven and Sebring residents an easy solution to their problems. Our LASIK surgeons give you individualized care throughout the whole process, schedule your consultation today.
What are the benefits of refractive procedures?
To correct many levels of myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism. These corrections can be treated to effectively reduce your dependency on eyeglasses and contacts.
What can I expect during my refractive procedure?
It is often painless and will take less than 30 minutes. During the surgery, you may feel some pressure on your eye. After surgery, you may experience your eye(s) feeling irritated or itchy and your eyes may water; however, by not rubbing or touching your eye and using eye drops as directed by your doctor, these symptoms will soon pass.
